Mural painting workshops

So far I’ve held two collaborative art workshops with and for young teenagers / kids. Both workshops in Årby, Eskilstuna.

We plan, sketch and paint large scale floor murals together. I’ve had so much fun with these brilliant artists of tomorrow!

SWEDENS UGLIEST PARKING LOT GETS A MAKE OVER

The site of our art project, a parking lot in Årby had recently been deemed “Swedens ugliest parking lot”.
I helped the kids of Årby give it a well needed glow up, by creating this large scale floor mural.

The project was a three week workshop, commissioned by Eskilstuna Municipality.

MURAL WORKSHOP

A shorter workshop in Årby, Eskilstuna. Summer of

    • I am Noodls. A Gothenburg based artist with roots in Japan and Sweden.

    I was born in Kyoto, to my Korean mother and Swedish father. Today I’m based in Gothenburg but I grew up in Stockholm and Linköping. My Swedish roots are in Lapland, near Arvidsjaur. I work under the pseudonym of Noodls but my birth name is Johanna Dahlberg. My faiblesse for large scale paintings and labour intensive crafts has led me to master operating the biggest skylifts available and having completed projects of considerable proportion.

    My visual landscapes span between abstract shapes, repetitive geometric patterns and the playfully figurative. I am drawn towards the imperfect and irregular. I favor the mistakes and the visibly handmade. Recent years I have juggled both mural painting and my work with textile art pieces. My most recent obsession is needle work inspired by the japanese tradition of sashiko embroidery.

    I explore ideas and play with my project concepts in my studio in Majorna, Gothenburg. I studied architecture before I studied Public Art and gradually shifted my practice fully towards creating visual art. When planning my larger art projects I make use of my experience with 3
